Privacy policy

This page describes what the site actually stores, based on its code as of the date above. There are no accounts, and the site does not ask for your name, email address or payment details in order to play.

Stored in your browser

The site uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) for the following:

• Your game against the computer: the moves of an unfinished game and the difficulty you chose, so a reload brings the game back.
• Your score against the computer: wins, losses and draws, kept only on this device.
• Your language choice, if you change it.
• Online session token: an anonymous token issued by the game server so that a reload can return you to an online game in progress. Do not share it with anyone.
• Daily puzzle and community features: a randomly generated ID, the display name you choose if you post on the community board, and local counts such as games played and puzzle progress.
• The cookie notice: a note that you have dismissed the notice, so it is not shown again.

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. That removes the local copies only; it does not delete anything already held on a server (see below).

Stored on servers

Online games. Matchmaking and online games run on a server hosted by Supabase. It stores anonymous player records, the queue of people waiting, board positions and the moves made. An online-session credential lasts thirty days. An online game closes after ten minutes without a move. Finished game records are not deleted automatically.

Community board and daily puzzle. If you use these features, the random ID, your chosen display name, any message you post, and puzzle and game-count results are sent to a community server hosted on Vercel. Posts are visible to other visitors.

Hosting. The pages are delivered by Render through Cloudflare. Like any web host, these services, the font provider and the game servers receive standard connection data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, because that is needed to deliver the page.

Analytics

Since 1 November 2026 this site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect usage data, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the referring site, your device and browser type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Only the aggregated reports are used, to understand how the site is used. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising and cookies

The site uses Google AdSense to show ads. When ads are served, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver ads, to measure them and to prevent fraud. Depending on your settings and location, these ads may be personalised based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's own explanation is at how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can control personalised advertising at Google's ad settings. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser.

The site itself does not set advertising cookies.

Children

The site is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Online play and the community board do not require any personal details.

Questions and removal requests

Write to [email protected] for a privacy question or a request to remove data, such as a community board post. Do not include passwords or your session token. Because records are anonymous, you may be asked for details that help identify the right one, such as the display name and approximate time of a post.

Changes

If the site starts storing something new, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. See also the terms of use.
