What this site offers, and what it does not
chessplayonline.com is a free browser chess game. Play the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard, choose your side, and take moves back in computer games. Or look for a random online opponent without creating an account. There are no tournaments, ratings or account sync here, so for those Lichess or Chess.com will suit you better.
How we checked
We run chessplayonline.com, so we are not a neutral reviewer. On we opened each rival chess site's home or play page and recorded only the features that page itself claims. Where the table says “Not stated”, the chess site may well offer that feature; its page simply did not mention it. Chess sites update often, so confirm any detail on the site itself before you depend on it.
